What are tapered rollers?
Tapered rollers are a type of roller used in curved conveyor systems and enable the efficient transport of goods. Their characteristic feature is their conical (cone-shaped) shape. As you can see from our product images, this means that the diameter of the tapered rollers increases from one end to the other.
Where are conical rollers used?
Conical rollers control the direction of conveyed materials in curves or at junctions. Their shape makes them look like a kind of guidance system and help with the Centering: When a material runs over the rollers in a curve, the conical shape ensures that the goods on the inside of the curve are braked more strongly than on the outside. This difference in speed causes the goods to move to the outside of the curve and thus remain centered. This stabilization prevents the material being conveyed from slipping off the track or hitting the guide rail.
Curved conveyor: Conical rollers are used here to transport boxes, containers or other loads safely through curves.
Heavy-duty conveyors: Even with heavy goods, conical support rollers help to keep the load stable on the track.

What do I have to consider with the conical elements?
It's important to note that the conical elements on a pipe form a kind of truncated cone, with the pipe diameter determining which conical elements are pushed onto it. The number of conical elements pushed onto the pipe therefore varies depending on the roll length.
Depending on your specific application, there are different types of tapered elements. They are available in various lengths and sizes, with the first tapered element being 90mm long, while each subsequent tapered element is 100mm long.
